Chitai Golu Devta Temple ,Almora

6:30 am

Located just 10 km from Almora, the Chitai Golu Devta Temple is hands down one of the most unique places you will ever visit. It is dedicated to Golu Devta, who locals worship as the God of Justice. People here look at him as a divine judge who steps in when life gets unfair. The coolest part is how people pray. If someone is stuck in a bad legal battle or a family dispute, they actually write a letter detailing their problem. Walk around the temple and you will see thousands of these handwritten notes and even real court documents pinned to the walls. Once their prayers are answered and they get justice, people come back to hang a brass bell to say thank you. Because of this, the whole place is absolutely packed with millions of bells of every size, and the sound echoing through the hills is incredible.
